Poor Brad

Nothing ever goes easy for the Brad. He had a routine dental check-up today and the dentist ended up finding an impacted baby tooth and had to pull it! Ouch! Poor dang kid! Tonight he seems to be past the trauma and excited for the financial windfall of the tooth fairy visit.

Brad says...Thanks, it was free from the hospital where my Dad works. Oh man! BORROWED Bradley, not free! Could we please just keep the details of your costume to ourselves? umkay pumpkin?

Crazy Hair Day

Today was crazy hair day at Bennion Elementary (part of Red Ribbon Week). Jordan came out looking like a Dr. Seuss character.

What a mouth!

Tonight at Dinner.....

Bradley: I hope me and Dad can go play a game of golf soon.
Jordan: Well, that's not going to happen.

Why is it that the youngest is always the mouthiest?

Back to school we go!

Here's Makenzie and her friend Taylor heading off for their first day of 8th grade. They think it's awesome not being the new kids on the block (freshman) anymore. Umm, did these two call each other to coordinate outfits? I'm scared.

Jordan starts 2nd grade

In case you're wondering about Brad's shirt, yes, it's a ribcage but what makes it so Brad-esque is that it has game controls and other assorted gaming equipment encased and entangled throughout.

Imagine this...

Sunday evening, I'm out planting flowers by the front porch. Bradley steps out onto the front porch in a long tshirt that he uses for PJ's. I thought to myself...Ok, as long as he stays on the porch. I get engrossed in my gardening and when I look up again, I notice he is no longer on the porch and assume that he has gone back inside. At about the same time I have this thought, I hear his voice coming from the sidewalk at the corner of our house. I shoot straight up and whip around just in time to see him addressing two young mother's pushing their babies in strollers. Before I can act, he says to them "Do you know why I'm not wearing any pants?" as he playfully twists his torso from side to side. I spit a quick and growling "BRADLEY, House, Now!"
I'm sure the encounter made their ovaries shrivel up.

The age of braces

So, Bradley got braces put on today. He had a tough time with them taking the mold for the retainer because his gag reflex is very strong, but he got through it. He goes back on June 2nd to get the retainer put in, which is when the uncomfortable part starts, the tightening. Makenzie got her's on April 29th - her birthday. She's like an old pro now and is taking very good care of them.

Very Cute ♥

Our little Jordie made this poster for us and taped it to our bedroom door. For those who do not read 1st grader, I'll translate. "I like you very much mom and dad. I like you being my mom and dad because you make us grate food and helthey food and sometimes you give us candy after dinner". Cute little peanut!!
She's as sweet as the candy that we apparently sometimes give them after dinner.

Bounce!

I love pictures taken while the kids are jumping on the trampoline. They're always funny.
This looks like a scene out of "The Matrix"

This trampoline is older than dirt, but oh man, does it ever bounce! I actually bought the kids a new trampoline a couple of years ago, but they wouldn't jump on it because it wasn't as fun, so we got rid of it and put the old one back up.

More park time

Makenzie & Jordan doing their best duck impression

Brad and Jordan always feel the need to dogpile their father whenever he stays in one place for too long. It was so sunny and warm that we actually got a little sunburned.

Follow up to riding bikes---

Bradley was so pleased with finally being able to get out and ride his bike yesterday that he decided he would go for a ride around the block today. He had only been outside for a minute or so when he came back in the house, grumbling somewhat under his breath. When I asked him what was wrong he said that he really wanted to go ride his bike but everytime he sat on the bike seat, his butt really hurt! Sometimes fun comes with a pricetag, dear son.

Jordan without training wheels!

Here is Jordan showing off for us. She's getting the hang of riding her bike without the training wheels. Still a little wobbly but getting better and better. She is very pleased! (It's Makenzie you hear grumbling about how bad her legs hurt from riding bikes)

Fun day at the park

Well, it wasn't too shabby of a day. We started out by getting the kids all haircuts, ran to the bank so Brad could deposit his Birthday money (he's saving for when Mariokart for Wii comes out at the end of the month), went to lunch at Wingers (love those wings), then took the kids to the park with their bikes and scooters. We were there almost 20 minutes before I had to reem someone's stupid kids who were too old to be hanging out on playground equipment. That's a record for me. It usually only takes 10 minutes before that happens. They were spitting big loogies on each other, hucking armloads of wood chips everywhere, and just being all around annoying. Okay, crappy parents of the world....let me just go ahead and warn you. If you're not going to keep tabs on your kids so that you can get after them when they get out of line, I'm gonna go ahead and do it for you, yah, because that's what friends do.
So there it is, now back to the fun.

Sicko♥

Jordan got her self a nice head cold so we're home sick today, chugging the cough medicine. Never too sick for Nintendo Wii though!

Makenzie's concert

Makenzie had a band concert last night. You can just barely see the top of her head in the middle there. She's very dedicated and becoming quite the flutist. We had been leasing her flute but when she tried out for next year's jazz band and made it, I decided this wasn't just a passing fancy. So I went to the music store and inquired about purchasing the flute. After being revived by paramedics, I handed over all my worldly possessions, and we now own her flute.
